Cincinnati Public Schools — New Pleasant Ridge Pre K-8 School
This project is a 78,763 ft² new PreK-8 Elementary School that is LEED Registered and is seeking certification at construction completion. The HVAC design includes an underfloor air distribution system and LoadMatch water distribution systems, which is an innovative approach to hydronic heating and cooling. These approaches enable us to design and deliver more efficient systems while increasing occupant comfort, saving time, energy and money.
The project consists of one air cooled screw chiller (210 ton) with variable frequency drive for capacity control. The pumping system consisted of constant volume primary and variable volume secondary chilled water distribution.
The electrical design involves daylight monitoring. Lighting controls will monitor the available natural light and adjust the output of local lighting fixtures to minimize energy consumption while maintaining desired lighting levels for optimum performance. This building will also be designed with solar panel photovoltaic arrays to generate power for portions of the building.
This is the first LEEDŽ designed project for the Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC).
