Dayton Department of Veteran Affairs — Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center
Complete design services were provided for a new additional chiller and associated appurtenances for a complete operating system with emergency and normal power fees and emergency power to existing chillers 1, 2, 3, and 4 and associated motor control centers and appurtenances at Building #330 chiller plant at the Dayton Veterans Affairs.
As the design engineers, we had to become familiar with the building’s existing chiller cooling tower capabilities/capacities, existing emergency power generation and distribution systems, the existing normal power distribution system and associated electrical loads as necessary to identify and evaluate sensible design alternatives and their respective lifecycle costs for providing emergency power service to four (4) existing chillers (three 700-tons and one 750-ton refrigeration capacity and associated motor control centers and appurtenances.
Additionally, we were responsible for identifying, evaluating, and proposing sensible design alternatives and their respective lifecycle cost estimates for procuring and installing a new chiller and associated controls and appurtenances necessary for a complete functioning system.
