Eugene Griffin, PE, LEED® AP BD+C

President, CEO and Principal-In-Charge of Marketing and Business Development and Healthcare

The President and CEO of Dynamix, Gene also serves as the Principal-in-Charge for the company. With an A.A.S., a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology and more than three decades of experience in the industry, Gene monitors the progress of each Dynamix project, provides guidance to engineers, leads the implementation of sustainable green building design, collaborates with other principals to provide appropriate solutions for projects, oversees development and the production of deliverables, and, most important to him, develops lasting relationships with clients that extend long after a project is complete. Under his leadership, Dynamix has designed a Pebble Project, engineered the first OFSC LEED® silver certified school for Cincinnati Public Schools and is now in the process of designing many more LEED® certified projects. Gene’s project experience includes work with the Ohio Department of Transportation, the City of Columbus, as well as nearly a dozen hospitals and medical facilities, public schools, recreation facilities and municipal facilities.

It’s hard to imagine a guy who loves Dynamix as much as Gene does stepping away from the office once in a while, but when he does, he can be found on the golf course or training with weights.

Todd Mace, PE, LEED® AP

Vice President and Principal-In-Charge of Operations and Energy Division

Todd has been with Dynamix since even before it was called that and is now one of its Vice Presidents as well as Principal-in-Charge of Operations and Energy Division. With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University, he is registered in seven states as a Professional Engineer. A Certified Energy Conservation Engineer, Todd has been at the forefront of the energy efficiency and sustainability movement long before the general public was aware of such a need. His duties with Dynamix include project coordination, workflow processes, scheduling and communication with clients, and his design experience includes emergency shutdown systems, emergency backup systems (battery and generators), general emergency generator systems, lighting, electrical power distribution systems, elevator systems, fire alarm systems, and systems of recycling waste material and excess steam into useable sources of energy. Todd’s work can be found in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Dublin Methodist Hospital, various City of Columbus facilities, public schools and recreational venues.

In addition to his dedication to a cleaner environment, Todd is also focused on a health-conscious lifestyle and enjoys a good game of golf.

Garry Montgomery, PE, RCDD LEED® AP

Vice President and Principal-In-Charge of Technology and Electrical Engineering

Garry began working with Dynamix in 1998 and now serves as the Vice President of the company as well as Principal-In-Charge of Technology and Electrical Engineering. With more than two decades of experience, his specialties are technology, lighting and power systems design, and his responsibilities with Dynamix include conceptualizing, coordinating and designing all aspects of electrical and electronic systems for educational, public, healthcare and specialty facilities, such as historic buildings, theatres and sports venues. With a degree in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University, Garry’s experience also covers the design of security, fire alarm and mass notification systems; data/voice/voice cabling infrastructure; data networking; and data, voice and video communication systems for more than 100 facilities.

In his free time, Garry is involved in mentorship programs, has presented to the OSBA conference, served as Vice Chairman of the Heart of Ohio Tech Prep Consortium, has assisted ODE with STEM applications and curriculum approach, represents Dynamix at key ASHE, is an instructor for the Central Ohio Builder’s Exchange, is an active member in OSPE, USGBC, NFPA, BiCsi and NSPE, and teaches Tae Kwon Do.

Doug Smith, PE, CEM, LEED® AP BD+C, GGP

Owner Direct Division

The license and certificate designations after Doug’s name may seem like a real mouthful, but they are well deserved. A graduate of both The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Keller Graduate School with an MBA, Doug has worked in the engineering and construction engineering since 1998, joining Dynamix in 2006. Doug has served a variety of roles at our firm, all of which provided him experience in designing, testing, and assessing mechanical control systems; developing designs and building automation specifications; managing the design process on multiple concurrent projects; and managing the installation and commissioning of building automation systems for new construction and retrofit projects. He currently serves as a Senior Associate and Division Leader, heading up the company’s Owner Direct division (which he is responsible for developing) and Commissioning Group.

Doug is a member and officer of a number of civic, community and industry organizations, including ASHRAE. He enjoys spending time with his family, is an active youth teacher, and can often be found on the fairway, where he takes a few more strokes than the average golfer but enjoys himself nonetheless.

Lee Anne Dye

Healthcare Division

Lee Anne attended Ohio University and has been in the engineering industry since 1979 and with Dynamix since 2005, where she serves as a Senior Associate, Project Executive and Healthcare Design Group Leader. Lee Anne’s decades of experience in engineering consulting, construction administration and project design have given her a broad design skillset, which includes lighting, general power, normal and emergency power distribution, utility coordination, fire alarm systems, nurse call and other low-voltage systems. Her project management work includes contracts, owner programming, and communication processing between owner, architect and construction team. At Dynamix, Lee Anne gets to put her skills to use on high-caliber projects such as the Lexington Medical Center, the Dublin Methodist Hospital, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, the University of Illinois at Chicago and other medical centers, educational facilities, retail spaces, medium/maximum state detention campuses and high-rise living facilities.

When she’s not busy overseeing projects from pre-planning to ribbon-cutting or designing sophisticated systems for clients, Lee Anne can be found cruising through the Hocking Hills area on the back of a Harley with friends or helping out family members on any home project that involves paint and power tools (sadly, her family has yet to request a system evaluation or utility coordination, otherwise she would gladly help out with that as well).

Craig Buchholz, RCDD, LEED® AP

Technology Division

Craig has been with Dynamix since 2001 as our Senior Associate Technology Manager. Before joining the team, he earned his B.S. in Business Administration at The Ohio State University, and spent years designing, managing and implementing telecommunications and technology plans for clients in healthcare, education and institutional fields. Well respected and established in the industry, Craig’s duties at Dynamix include design and project leadership of complete integrated solutions covering data, security, fire alarm, voice, sound reinforcement, and video spectrum and systems. He also has experience designing, installing and managing A/V for stages and research facilities, wired and wireless systems, VOiP and cabling, CCTV network camera systems, mass notification systems, and antennae systems. Some of his major projects include multi-million dollar voice, video and data infrastructure installations Battelle Hall, the Ohio Statehouse capitol building and The Ohio State University’s Schottenstein Arena.

An active member of BiCsi, NSCA and Syn-Aud Con, Craig somehow manages to squeeze skiing and long-distance bike riding into his schedule.

Dave Schoen, LEED® AP

Technology Division

A member of the Dynamix team since 1996, Dave is our Senior Associate Technology Division Manager and Electrical Engineer. In his role, he provides management and design support for a wide range of projects including healthcare, education, commercial and industrial; his experience includes total project management, construction administration, electrical and communication systems design, cost estimating, construction documents, project scheduling, project coordination, budget management, leading the Technology Division of Dynamix, and serving as a point person with state and local officials and site inspections. His work can be seen at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Grant/Riverside Methodist Hospitals, Huntington Park, Ohio University and dozens of public schools.

Prior to his work with Dynamix, Dave earned his B.S. in Electronic of Engineering Technology from DeVRY Institution of Technology. He held NICET Level IV Fire Alarm System Certification and his work on fire alarm assessments and writing standard operating procedure manuals for fire alarm systems has carried over into his role with our company. An active member of the National Fire Protection Agency, it comes as no surprise that David balances his job—in which he focuses largely on fire—with some cooler activities like snow skiing and sailing with his family in his free time.

Stacy Cunningham, CPSM

Marketing Manager

Stacy is synonymous with the word “multitasking”—she serves as the Marketing Manager of Dynamix, overseeing the marketing team and process, representing the firm at programs and tradeshows, developing relationships with clients and winning projects for the firm through her business development efforts. Shortly after joining the Dynamix team in 2002, Stacy was the recipient of the “Most Valuable Person” award—Dynamix’ highest recognition—and also won the “Best Idea of the Year” award in 2013. If there were an award for “Office Superwoman,” she would likely win that one as well. Graduating a top business student from Wilberforce University, she went on to earn her MBA from Clark Atlanta University as well as the coveted Certified Professional Services Marketing Certification (CPSM).

Not only is Stacy a multitasking star in the office, that drive carries over into her personal life as well. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. and the Society for Marketing Professional Services, and an active participant in the Columbus Urban Strings Parent Association and she still finds time to read, travel, attend jazz concerts and spend time with her family.
